Dima Hasao is one of the newly created Judicial District in the State of Assam. Government is yet to hand over possession of the multi-storied building identified for housing the Judicial Courts in Dima Hasao District as well the two storied RCC building, identified by the District Administration for residential accommodation of four Judicial Officers and the Assam type houses proposed by the District Administration for temporary accommodation of the District and Sessions Judge and the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
Dima Hasao district — earlier called North Cachar Hills district is an administrative district in the state of Assam in north-eastern India. As of 2011 it is the least populous district of Assam (out of 27). "Dima Hasao" means "Dimasa Hills" in the Dimasa language.
