    DISTRICT COURT COMPLEX, SURI AT BIRBHUM

 

 

 

The court buildings of the District Judge, Birbhum was built in the year, 1868 and started functioning with four Chowki i.e Suri, Rampurhat, Bolpur and Dubrajpur. In the year 1971 after amalgamation of criminal Jurisdiction, the criminal court under the judiciary, the courts of Judicial Magistrate were established and started functioning at Suri,Rampurhat and Bolpur. Thereafter, the Judicial Magistrate Court, Dubrajpur started functioning in the year, 1988. At present, this district comprises of three sub-division with the 34 courts as detailed below

(A) At Suri Sadar:- There are 14 Courts i.e, 

(1) District Judge, Birbhum,

(2) The Additional District Judge,1st.Court,

(3)Addl.Dist. & Sess.Judge,2nd.Court,

(4) Additional District Judge,3rd Court,

(5) Additional District Judge,4thCourt,

(6) Additional District Judge, Fast Track ,

(7) Civil Judge(Senior Division),

(8) Chief Judicial Magistrate, Birbhum

(9) Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate,

(10) Civil Judge(Junior Division), Sadar Court,

(11) Civil Judge(Junior Division), Additional Court,

(B)At Dubrajpur Chowki:-  There are 3 Courts i.e,

1)Addl.Dist.&SessionJudge.FastTrack ,

(2) Judicial Magistrate,

(3) Civil Judge(Jr.Div.),

(C) At Rampurhat :- There are 10 Courts i.e ,

(1) Additional District Judge,

(2) Additional District Judge, Fast Track, Court,

(3)Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate,
